Escape the hustle and bustle with our 1.5 day overnight kayaking adventure on the scenic Chattahoochee River! For this trip we will paddle the lower portion of the Chattahoochee into Lake Lanier and camp at Don Carter State Park. Perfect for beginners and recreational paddlers, this guided trip offers a safe and enjoyable way to experience kayaking and camping with none of the stress. Along the way, you'll not only paddle and explore but also learn about the Chattahoochee River, develop kayaking skills, and discover how to be a responsible outdoor adventurer.

What to Expect
An Active Outdoor Day: You’ll be paddling your own kayak, spending the day on the river and camping under the stars.
Variable Weather: Come prepared with sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water. (We will also provide hydration). Rain is possible as well.
A Rewarding Challenge: While guides will support you, participants are expected to paddle and stay engaged. You’ll feel accomplished and proud by the end!
What Will You Need?
We’ve got most of the essentials covered, but here are a few items you’ll need to bring to ensure you’re comfortable and ready for the adventure:

Clothing:
Quick-dry or moisture-wicking clothes for kayaking
No Cotton
A swimsuit for swimming
A light jacket or layers for cooler evenings
Footwear:
Closed-toe water shoes or secure sandals (no flip-flops)
Sleeping Gear:
Sleeping bag and pillow
Hydration & Toiletries:
Reusable water bottle
Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses
Personal toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)
Lighting:
Flashlight or headlamp with extra batteries
Wildlife to Look Out For
As you paddle along the Chattahoochee River, you’ll be surrounded by a vibrant ecosystem. Some of the wildlife you might encounter includes:
Birds:
Great Blue Herons: Graceful wading birds often spotted along the riverbanks.
Ospreys: Watch for these fish-eating raptors diving into the water.
Kingfishers: Known for their distinct calls and darting movements.
Red-Tailed Hawks: Occasionally soaring overhead.
Aquatic Wildlife:
River Otters: Playful and curious, these mammals are often seen swimming or sliding along the banks.
Fish: You may spot bass, catfish, or trout swimming beneath the surface.
Mammals:
White-Tailed Deer: Common in the surrounding forests and occasionally seen drinking at the river.
Beavers: Look for their dams and lodges or catch a glimpse of them swimming.
Reptiles and Amphibians:
Turtles: Painted turtles and snapping turtles often bask on rocks or logs.
Frogs: Their calls can often be heard during the evening at camp.

Dragonflies, butterflies, and bees are plentiful along the river and campsites.

We’ll provide meals, tents, and a pre-set campsite, so you can focus on enjoying the adventure. If you have any questions about gear or need help preparing, let us know!
$100 Non-Refundable Deposit Policy
To secure your spot on this unforgettable kayaking adventure, we require a $100 non-refundable deposit per participant at the time of booking. This deposit helps us cover preparation costs, including campsite reservations, gear, and meals. While the deposit is non-refundable, we understand that plans can change. If you notify us at least 30 days in advance, you can transfer your deposit to another trip within the next 12 months or transfer your spot to a friend or family member at no extra cost. Simply contact us to make the arrangements! 30 days prior to the trip the balance of payment is due and will be considered non-refundable due to the difficulty to fill the spot within that short period of time. The trip can be transferred to another participant, so you can still receive a refund in those cases. Please contact us for more details.
