This 10 mile route is perfect for beginner and intermediate paddlers looking to experience the beauty of the Chattahoochee River while learning new skills and camping under the stars in a supportive environment. Class Highlights:

  • Duration: 2 Days - 8:00 AM Saturday until 3:00 PM Sunday

  • Location: Wildwood Outfitters 

  • Maximum: 8 participants

Wildwood is a one-of-a-kind riverside campsite on this section of the Chattahoochee River. Typically, this location is not accessible for camping to the public. Thanks to the exclusive partnership between Paddle Pals and Festive Water, this program offers a rare opportunity to experience an overnight stay at Wildwood Outfitters.

    • For recreational and beginner participants, we provide stable, easy-to-use sit-on-top kayaks. These are ideal for building confidence and ensuring a safe, fun experience on the water. If you are an experienced paddler and prefer to use your own kayak, feel free to bring it along!

Wildlife You May See

This section of the Chattahoochee River is teeming with wildlife. Here are some of the animals and reptiles you might encounter during your adventure:

Birds

  • Great Blue Herons: Majestic wading birds often spotted near the riverbanks.

  • Bald Eagles: Occasionally seen soaring above the river or perched in tall trees.

  • Ospreys: Commonly seen diving into the water to catch fish.

  • Kingfishers: Look for these small, fast birds darting over the water.

  • Barred Owls: Their calls may serenade you during the evening at Wildwood.

Mammals

  • River Otters: Playful and curious, often spotted swimming or lounging on rocks.

  • White-Tailed Deer: Frequently seen grazing near the water’s edge.

  • Raccoons: Active at night around campsites (be sure to store food properly!).

Reptiles and Amphibians

  • Turtles: Look for Eastern River Cooters and Painted Turtles basking on logs.

  • Snakes: Non-venomous water snakes are common and harmless; keep an eye out for them sunbathing on rocks or near the river.

  • Frogs and Toads: Listen for their calls, especially in the evenings near camp.

Non-Refundable Deposit

To secure your spot on this exclusive overnight kayaking adventure, a non-refundable deposit of $150 per person is required at the time of booking. This deposit ensures your reservation and allows us to cover the necessary preparations for your trip, including access to Wildwood, gear, and guide services.

At 30 days prior to the trip the balance of payment is due.  If cancelled within those 30 days the payment is non-refundable.  This is due to it being highly difficult to find another person to fill your spot.  We do allow transfers to another student if you locate a person who wishes to take your place.

While the deposit is non-refundable, it can be applied toward a future trip if you notify us prior to full payment. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to this one-of-a-kind experience!
